Overpriced and irritating.

At 200 points this one might almost be worth the points, but it's just impossible to recommend it for 400 points.  At its heart, this is the Snake game that everyone who owns a modern cell phone has played with their thumb.  I've been playing incarnations of this game since QBasic's Nibbles, and there is one thing that all previous versions I've played have had in common -- I didn't have to pay for them. Just play Tetris instead

This is a relatively straight-forward puzzle game, similar in execution to Tetris.  Square tiles fall from the top center of the board with various directional line patterns drawn into them.  White squares can be rotated to open up a wider selection of connections while red squares must be placed as they are originally aligned.  At any point in which five or more lines connect, the tiles that contain them are destroyed.  This gives you points and increases...

Melvin's Meltdown

Flawed gem shows off great potential.

Pros: There are a number of things which Melvin's Meltdown does very well.  I found the art style throughout the game to be very charming.  The music was catchy and well-matched to the gameplay style, never seeming to get overly repetative.  The idea of chain reactions is on its face cool, and it falls into familiar Match-N puzzler gameplay styles.  There were also several interesting tweaks on the genre, including a resource management system which rewarded...
